Black and White by Paul Volponi

Marcus and Eddie make up the team of Black and White. They've been a team on the basketball court and in life since they were small kids. They stand out in their community because they are black and white, kids who are able to look past race and see what it means to be true friends. All of this crumbles when crime enters the relationship. I look forward to using this book next year with my seventh grade boys. It is approachable, high interest and real. Having more books like this will create more life-long readers in those boys that we try so hard to reach.
